Research the current situation of green supply chain and lessons for Vietnam supply chain

Green supply chain management is a topic, which is paid an increasing attention from many organizations due to environmental concerns. In Vietnam, the activities of green supply chain management are still on the early steps of research as well as small national projects. Therefore, understanding green supply chain management comprehensively is considered as a big question of not only the economy but also the entire society. This academic paper provides the history and concepts of green supply chain management, and the benefits of the implementation of green supply chain management through researching the lessons of green supply chain management in some countries. Furthermore, the authors analyses the current situation of green supply chain management in Vietnam by using SWOT method, then draws some recommendations that Vietnam supply chain sector can apply to become more environmental friendly.
