The establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of 2015 opens up opportunities for the development of the fledgling logistics industry in Vietnam, but also exerts enormous pressures on the operations of the logistics companies, which forces them to respond and innovate. One feasible option for the survival and thrive of the Vietnamese logistics enterprises under new challenges of integration is through the merger and acquisition (M&A) activities. The paper will emphasize on providing an outlook of Vietnamese logistics industry and some typical cases of M&A in logistics, and defining the trends for the M&A activities under the formation of AEC.
